Virtua Health identified adult obesity as a key issue in Burlington and Camden counties through its 2016 community health needs assessment (CHNA). In response to community feedback, Virtua launched its Eat Well program that offers a mobile farmers market, a mobile grocery store, and a Food Farmacy program to improve community health outcomes.

• Sharpen Your Mission: The Eat Well team focuses on its expertise in food access, transportation access, and behavioral services. Leaders are establishing and strengthening local partnerships to tackle other social determinants of health. They are becoming trusted resources to those in the community who need them most.
• Commit to Consistency: Providing services at the same time year-round has facilitated customer loyalty and strong relationships for the Eat Well team. Residents now rely on and trust Eat Well's services because of the consistency, which strengthens Virtua's brand as an organization committed to being here for good and sustaining local investments in the community.
• Hire Local Leaders: Establishing and sustaining trust in underserved communities requires expertise beyond traditional "hard skills." Virtua Health has engaged members from underserved communities as key members of the team, prioritizing lived experience in their approach to designing and delivering services with empathy and dignity.
