Overview
CMMI has announced the Long-term Enhanced ACO Design (LEAD) Model, a 10-year voluntary model that aims to build upon CMMI’s previous accountable care work via improved benchmarking. LEAD will run from January 1, 2027, through December 31, 2036 – the longest testing period CMS has ever established for a value-based model, placing a greater emphasis on preventive care to support healthier aging and ongoing care coordination between visits.
