Representative Connolly served as the U.S. representative for Virginia’s 11th congressional district and was first elected to the seat in 2009. Following a moment of silence held during the House Rules Committee, Rep. Stephen F. Lynch called Connolly “the epitome of a public servant.” Read his family’s statement.
