Rush and Endeavor combine an academic brand with regional scale

Rush University System for Health and Endeavor Health announced plans on October 14 to combine into a 12-hospital system under the Rush name. The combined system would have nearly $11 billion in revenue. Recent Chicago consolidation has mostly run the other way, with academic systems adding community hospitals. Here, the larger partner takes the smaller partner's name and academic identity.
