On April 13, CMS announced that more than 150 companies and providers have been provisionally approved for the first cohort of the Advancing Chronic Care with Effective, Scalable Solutions (ACCESS) model. CMMI also extended the application deadline from April 1 to mid-May, signaling appetite for further participation.
The approved list spans medical groups, primary care enablers, D2C consumer apps, and digital health companies. Notable names include Headspace, Cadence, Story Health, Verily, Whoop and Withings.
Most participants had not previously served Medicare patients, which underscores that ACCESS is explicitly designed to bring new entrants into the program.
