The Purchaser Business Group on Health, a nonprofit coalition of employers and public purchasers, has released a new common purchasing agreement led by Walmart and Qualcomm outlining best practices for maternal health coverage and birth equity.
The agreement outlines five key principles: deploying evidence-based, coordinated models to ensure high-quality care; ensuring timely access; promoting equitable care built on cultural humility; transparency and accountability; and value-based care.
The last of these goals is most interesting to us as it suggests that the group may push for more bundles or other ways to support more value-based agreements.
