Strong communication and effective strategy development are essential for healthcare leaders to move change forward. The Health Equity Alliance (HEA) Leadership Activation Series is a leadership development program for health equity leaders looking to advance their their leadership skills. This program dives into the leadership strategies necessary to advance health equity in their organizations and communities. HEA Member organizations nominate leaders from their organization to participate in the virtual series. HEA offers the program to two cohorts a year (Spring and Fall). During the first session of the Fall 2024 cohort, HEA invited healthcare executives to discuss with our participants the strategy and communication needed to make change in the health equity space. The session provided valuable insights and practical tactics to gain C-suite executive buy-in through storytelling.

Leadership Through Effective Communication: Attendees gained insights and practical tactics drawn from Dr. Charles Modlin’s expertise in spearheading the launch of the Men’s Minority Health Institute and the Multicultural Health Equity Centers of Excellence at MetroHealth System.
Effective Storytelling to Influence Change: Joe Hinderstein of SmartRise Health engaged the cohort in the framework of storytelling to engage stakeholders in activating change within organizations and communities.
Nominations for the 2025 Cohort Open in January: HEA Member organizations will soon be invited to nominate leaders from their organization to participate in the Spring 2025 cohort of the Leadership Activation Series. We invite HEA Members to begin considering their nominees.
