Ascension is selling its ownership stake in an Arizona-based Medicaid insurer, Mercy Care, to Aetna for an undisclosed amount. It’s the latest in a string of divestitures for the St. Louis-based Catholic health system, which is aggressively refocusing its strategy around outpatient care after acquiring ASC operator AmSurg earlier this year.
